If you’re considering buying a pellet stove, you better hurry. The federal tax credit applies only if the stove is installed in 2010. The tax credit amounts to 30 percent of the purchase and installation costs, or up to $1,500, when installed in a primary residence. The pellet stove must have a thermal efficiency rating of 75 percent or more to qualify.
