Firm: Biomass plant to create 140 jobs

POWNAL — A company planning to build a $250 million biomass-fueled energy plant says it will create 140 new jobs, including 45 at its facilities, and increase state tax revenue by $2.3 million.
In a letter sent to Pownal’s Planning Commission and Select Board and the Bennington County Regional Commission, attorney Hans Huessy, of the Rutland firm Kenlan, Schwiebert, Facey & Goss, P.C., said Beaver Wood Energy Pownal LLC planned to file for a certificate of public good with the Department of Public Service around Oct. 25.
